My original paintings are one of a kind expressions of my art. I still have some of my old originals available, and I'm working on some new ones presently, check out "recent work" page. Contact me for more info on particular images.
An original work of art has an inherent value in the fact that it is unique, the only one in the whole universe. If someone likes the artwork, this alone makes it collectible. When reproduction prints are made of an original, even more value may be added to the original, which would likely make the work even more collectible.
Collecting art for investment, to make profit in the future, is an art in itself. Many people invest in promising emerging artist's works, hoping to be ahead of the curve. Affordability makes the artist's work more accessible to emerging collectors.
I don't mass produce my art. Time and thought go into everything I do. I only go through the effort of printing my signed "print on demand" limited editions as needed. In the future, the eventual value of a print may depend more on how few have been printed. If and when I print the last of an editon that edition will be finished and closed.
I know I could be seen as somewhat of an "unusual" artist in many ways. Just being different may be reason enough to collect my art.
I'm a self representing, emerging artist, but I have been creative all my life. I'm still a construction worker, working on a career change.
"Provenance" also adds value to art collectibles. The information on this website, descriptions and recollections about the individual pieces, including a Certificate of Authenticity, signing, numbering, dating, etc., all add provenance to the art.
A few people actually do have small collections of my prints and paintings. So. I guess my art is collectible to some. I'm not getting any younger, I'm at a major turning point in the new directions my art is going. With internet exposure, you never know how well known I can become.
Art is so subjective, one person's masterpiece is another's trash.
Consider how the art affects you, it's creative quality, rarity, age of artist, value to your own spirit, etc., when buying art.
Buy art for it's own message that your feelings understand.
