"I painted this back on the late 70's, a girl I knew requested a magic mushroom painting, she bought it and moved away, back East somewhere, I wonder if this painting still exists somewhere.
I'm amazed at how many people stumble onto this page while searching 'shrooms'. I was trying new techniques to me, trying to learn new methods, mixing brush work with airbrush, using some gold and silver mettalic acrylic paint on the shrooms. This print is from the only photograph I have of the original, the painting is large and the 35mm negative is old, so this is the best I could do to be able to print it.
For some reason, I painted a lot of star filled skies back then, I did get to experience 'magic mushrooms' a few times back then, I hunted them in Hana, rising out of cow pies, at sunrise. I've watched while the rocks were breathing and time stood still."
