"I painted this one a long time ago, it was one of my first paintings, I'm not sure about the date on it. I was just beginning to paint, learning the airbrush, masking and shading techniques . I bought an art student's drawing at a garage sale of this woman. Inspired by it, I did my own drawing of the woman, then came up with this surreal landscape.
It was an experiment in painting methods for me, I was learning by doing, trying to teach myself about art. I named it 'Herself', but in a way it reflects everyone's inner self, isolated and alone in the universe, three guiding stars of light, a monolith of introspective consciousness, on an inorganic curved plane of black and white perspective, away from the mountainous horizon of my future, far off in the distance."
