"Lady in the Lake"
Acrylic on canvas, 1978, 20X30, Christopher Redwine
Giclee Print # 003

"I painted this one a long time ago, the original painting is large and the images here really don't do it justice, they are scanned from an old negative that needed some corrections, it is the only photo I have of this piece. I sold this painting and another one of Slide Mountain to the same guy in Reno, sometimes I wonder if this painting is hanging on someone's wall somewhere. It captures the surreal magic of LakeTahoe springtime, cooling off on a hot day, in crystal cold clean water, in the high altitude.
Skinny dipping on a hot day in freezing clear water, what a rush. Back in the early 70's we'd hike down to the lake on the Nevada side, get naked, get high, and go swimming to get energized and cool off. This painting captures the surreal natural beauty of a woman with the lake and sky feeding her spirit with life magic, it reminds me of when I lived in a boulder cave for two months, near what we called 'the cabin' beach, now called 'chimney beach' (because the forest service burned the cabin down), it was the best vacation I've ever had, two months of living in paradise, naked on the shores of Lake Tahoe."
